S5 플랫폼은 PON OLT 와 이더넷 집선 스위치로서 고성능 스위치 라우터 역할을 합니다. 서비스를 제어하고 생성하는 다양한 광 링크를 제공합니다. 기가 비트 이더넷, GEPON 및 WDM PON의 광 링크를 제공합니다. S5 플랫폼은 통합된 다중기능을 단일의 S5 플랫폼에 적용하여 엑세스 네트워크를 간단하게 하며, 고기능과 확장성으로 동시에 주거, 상업 서비스를 모두 가능하게 하는 플랫폼입니다.
S 시리즈는 여러 종류의 섀시와 여러 종류의 Swtiching Control Module(SCM)과 Line Interface Module(LIM)으로 구성됩니다.
back plane 용량과, SCM, LIM은 처리량과 포트 집적도에 따라 다양한 구성을 할 수 있으며, 선택 할 수 있는 10기가 이더넷 업링크는 현재 또는 미래에서 필요한 서비스 대역폭을 만족 할 수 있습니다. SCM 과 LIM은 섀시와 구현하고자 하는 시스템에서 호환 가능 합니다. 이에 따라 네트워크 구성시 넓은 범위의 옵션에 따라 사업자가 자신의 서비스 및 집적도를 고려하여, 동일한 기능과 성능을 유지하면서, 네트워크를 단순화 할 수 있는 많은 유연성을 제공합니다.
