The requirements for networked communications within the user community have changed drastically over the past two decades. In fact, user requirements have been undergoing a steady pace of evolution since the first forms of electronic communications became commonplace at the turn of the last century. Most importantly, the rate of change in user requirement has accelerated dramatically over the past few years. This is a key point in that most of the technology being deployed today in the Metro network has its roots in wide-area technology developed in the early and mid-1990s.
Corecess' solutions enable service providers build Broadband IP access
infrastructure, laying the foundation for next-generation
high end applications. Corecess' solutions offer outstanding values and offer
service providers with the competitive advantage they need to become
market leaders in their respective regions of operation and deliver broadband services profitably, by combining DSL
and ethernet switching technology.
DSL is the basic building block for speeding up local loop, considering
today's local loop is in most part composed of copper wires. Ethernet switching technology provides an alternative for broadband
access in local loop and enables service providers to build cost
effective and future-proof IP service networks with the emergence
of optical ethernet technology. Having focused on these two key
technologies, Corecess provides IP based DSL solutions and optical
ethernet access solutions in which Corecess provides enhanced
capabilities in their products that truly define today's broadband network.
In its DSL access solution offering, Corecess presents a comprehensive
set of products. The products
include "pizza box type" as well as "chassis type" ADSL, VDSL, and SHDSL IP DSLAM;
modems and Ethernet switch units. All DSLAMs based on the different DSL technologies, while providing
differentiated services to subscribers can be managed under a single-centralized equipment management system.
By stacking these box type units, service providers can substantially expand their networks
as the subscriber base grows.
For the business users and dense residential area, where fiber
based local loop would prove to be lucrative, optical ethernet
based solution would be the natural choice for service providers. Corecess
has full line of ethernet access products. The product range includes gigabit layer 3 switches for aggregation
and switch router for customer premise application. Corecess will
add new multiservice switch router products to its Ethernet
access product portfolio in addtion to the EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) featured product so as to provide a large array of products for service providers to choose from. EPON
is an economical way to roll out fiber optic technology to homes and businesses where by PONs can be built using relatively inexpensive telecommunications equipment.
With no powered components between endpoints and less need for maintenance once the fiber and passive optical splitter infrastructure is in place, PON may present a way for service providers to skim some cost off the top of fiber buildouts.
Corecess believes
"PONs will catch on, but won't catch fire"
